Green Area
LOST recognises that its operations within and outside of the building have an effect on the local, regional and global environment. We are committed to continuous improvements in environmental performance.
The bullet points below outline what we already do, as well as setting targets for what we want to achieve in the future.
Reducing, Re-using and Recycling
- We adopt the three Rs approach to all our resources and aim to reduce, re use and ultimately recycle.
- We have dedicated recycling points for glass, cans, plastic bottles, paper, cardboard, toner and print cartridges.
- We encourage the use of double sided photo copying
- We’ve adapted our printers to a double sided default setting
- When possible we store sets, costumes and props for re-use on future projects
Carbon Emissions
LOST recognised that theatrical work requires large amounts of power, to offset its carbon footprint LOST has in place the various measure listed below:
- LOST has a set of PV cells installed upon the roof of the building supplying us with a source of renewable energy
- All non-theatrical lighting is low-energy
- We aim to make the most efficient use of energy. The theatre is heated/cooled by an efficient air handling system. Air conditioning systems will only be used when absolutely necessary
- All staff makes efforts to turn off lights and ensure that doors are closed to minimise the use of energy and reduce heat loss
- Research will be undertaken to look into low carbon footprint materials to be used in the company
