RULES FOR THE FIVE MINUTE FESTIVAL 2013
1. The LOST Theatre Five Minute Festival is open to shows with a duration of up to 5 minutes.
2. All plays submitted are subject to acceptance by the Festival Artistic Committee. The LOST Theatre reserves the right to refuse plays without reason.
3. If accepted into the Festival, all companies (a person or group of persons who have submitted a play) are obliged to pay a non-refundable entry fee of £10 plus a £50 guarantee cheque (which will be refunded after completion of performance). This fee along with the guarantee is forfeited in the event of the company withdrawing from the Festival of its own volition, or being disqualified for contravening the Festival rules. This fee covers the admin costs of the festival.
4. Some shows may be held on a reserve list and admitted in the event of withdrawals. Being on the reserve list does not guarantee performance in the Festival.
5. Companies shall provide one copy of their scripts for initial assessment. Scripts are sent at the owner’s risk. LOST will not be responsible for returning any hardcopy scripts that have been submitted.
6. The Company is responsible for any Royalties due on all material (either writing or music) that is not original.
7. Each show must consist of no more than 4 cast members.
8. The technical and performance date and time of each show will be decided by the Festival Committee’s and their decision is final.
9. Each show has a 10 minute time slot. Each show must ensure that their performance, get-in and get-out falls within this time limit. Shows that are clearly running over at the dress rehearsal maybe disqualified at this stage and withdrawn from the Festival without performance.
10. Each show will receive a Technical/Dress rehearsal. As with the performance slot this allocation is non negotiable.
11. LOST will provide a festival lighting operator and a Festival manager. The Festival manager is there to oversee the entire Festival and not to stage manage individual plays. We do not allow outside technical staff to operate lighting. Outside technical staff may not be backstage unless by prior arrangement.
12. A general lighting state will be provided. A Festival production meeting will be held at the venue, all entries must have at least one member in attendance.
13. No costumes or hand props can be stored at the venue. IF YOU CAN’T CARRY IT IN AND THEN TAKE IT HOME, IT DOESN’T GO ON STAGE. LOST cannot accept responsibility for any items of property brought onto or left at the premises if either lost or damaged.
14. If any individual show requires smoking onstage you must give LOST prior notice.
15. Rehearsal space is the responsibility of the company. LOST is not responsible for organising or booking rehearsal space.
16. Tickets will be sold for each evening of the Festival and not individual shows. Tickets will be available through The LOST Theatre Box Office. LOST reserve the right to refuse admittance without reason.
17. Anyone deemed to be breaking any the LOST Theatre's rules and regulations will be disqualified from the Festival and asked to leave the premises immediately.
18. All participants must abide by the rules of the LOST Theatre
