The LOST Theatre has over thirty years experience in developing young performance talent. Now, in association with award winning company Vintage Star Productions we are offering weekly performance tuition at our venue during term time.
The classes will consist of games, team building exercises, confidence boosting tasks and a lot of fun.
Develop new performance skills.
Perform in a show at the end of each term.
Attend workshops alongside top industry professionals.
These classes will enable young people to build in confidence and also be creative within a fun and energetic environment. Providing them with skills to improve their performance and movement skills.
Every Monday from 5pm to 6pm: 5-8 years old
Every Wednesday from 5.30pm to 7pm: 9-12 years old

What we provide
Your child will be given weekly creative classes. Sessions are aimed at developing performance skills and encouraging self expression through creative activities.
We will be giving your child a chance to participate in regular activities, develop new performance skills, and the opportunity of performing on the theatre's main stage in our annual pantomime.
Classes will help to develop confidence, physical awareness and communication in an educational and fun environment. They will be taught to express themselves creatively and effectively allowing us to nurture young talent whilst encouraging and inspiring those who might need additional confidence.
Sessions are delivered in 8 week blocks with a performance for friends and family at the end of each term.
Participants will learn techniques in 5 main areas:
Story telling
Teaching skills to help develop imagination. Also helping to develop powers of description. Teaching students to hold an audience.
Devising
Devising methods are shared with students to explore a range of stimuli on chosen topics. In these sessions students will be challenged to create interesting devised work.
Improvisation
Teaching basic skills in improvisation which teaches students to listen and be aware of the other students. To have clarity in communication, and confidence to find choices instinctively and spontaneously.
Physical Theatre and movement
Sessions that allow students to explore their creativity through movement and physical theatre. Helping students to gain an understanding of basic choreography.
Performance skills
Learning helpful tips to apply to every performance
A chance to build in confidence, make new friends and develop creative potential.
5-8 year olds
Learning the basis of drama.
The aim for this age group is for the classes to be fun and enjoyable. Each session will begin with drama games and exercises. Classes will include:
An introduction into storytelling
Characterisation- exploring different types of characters within a story.
Movement
Rehearsing
Performing
Learning to work as a team and to collaborate with others.
Latter part of the term will be used to devise a piece. Under our guidance a story and characters will be created and then rehearsed and performed in the large dance studios for friends and family.
9-12 years olds
This course will be an extension on the 5-8 year old programme but also including:
Narration
Improvisation
Basic script work
Devising
Devising from scripts
Performance techniques
