Charles Dickens’ classic gets the full Broadway treatment by the Broadway team of Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid,), Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical) and Mike Okrent (Crazy For You, Me and My Girl).
Described by The Stage as " innovative, entertaining and packed full of vibrant melodies", this is a transfixing journey for adults, and children.
REMUNERATION
LOST Theatre is an unfunded charity formed to provide spring-board opportunities for emerging creative’s. There are huge overhead expenses involved in putting on a production of this scale in a building such as LOST.
This production is being put on under amateur rights which mean we are unable to pay any performers.
There will always be a small amount of flexibility regarding dates and commitment during rehearsals. However, full commitment to all four shows during the performance week is a requirement.
CASTING BREAKDOWN & AUDITIONS
Auditions will be held at LOST Theatre in Studio 2 on Sunday 13th November (10am - 10pm), Monday 14th November (6pm - 10pm), Thursday 117th November (6pm - 10pm)
All auditionees will have to demonstrate acting and singing ability. This show is virtually through sung. Auditionees should prepare an appropriate short monologue. Please prepare a song that demonstrates your range and suitability (with backing track).
PERFORMANCE & REHEARSAL DATES
All rehearsals will take place at the LOST Theatre. The rehearsal period will cover from Saturday 19th November to Sunday 18th November.

Scrooge
A mean spirited, uncaring, lonely, bitter miser. To him, money is everything. Baritone. 40 +
Bob Cratchitt
A meek, put upon little man. He works for Scrooge as a bookkeeper. He is first and foremost a family man and dearly loves his wife and children, especially his young son, Tiny Tim. Tenor/Baritone. 25 +
Mrs Cratchitt
A poor, but strong and resilient woman. Wife of Bob Cratchet, and mother of Tiny Tim and Martha. Alto / Mezzo. 25 +
Fred Anderson
Scrooges’s nephew: A family man who wants nothing more than for him and his family to get to know his uncle better. A true optimist. Tenor / Baritone. 20 +
Sally Anderson
Scrooge's nephews wife. Alto. 20 +
Mr Fezziwig
Scrooge’s first employer in the financial world. A man who had good business sense but had good people skills as well and believed that successful business relied on working hard. and playing hard. Tenor. 30 +
Mrs Fezziwig / Mrs Mop.
Dual Role. Fezziwig’s adoring, fun loving wife. A wonderful homemaker and the perfect hostess. Good mover. / Scrooge’s housekeeper. Soprano. 30 +
Marley
The ghost of Scrooge’s former business partner. Larger than life. Tenor. 35 +
Ghost of Christmas Present / Sandwich Board Man
Dual role. A Saint Nicholas/Santa Claus type. Jolly and good natured. A mature vaudeville style song and dance man. Baritone. Ageless.
Ghost of Christmas Past / Lamplighter
Dual role. Historically, this ghost was female. Baritone / Mezzo. Ageless.
Ghost of Christmas Future / Blind Hag
Dual role. An imposing character with great strength - even in stillness. It is vital to by physically aware and precise. Alto / mezzo voice. Ageless.
Young Marley
Marley before he became the cold, miser we know him as. Tenor / Baritone. 17 - 20.
Scrooge at 18.
Scrooge on the verge on transitioning to the miser we know him as. Tenor. 17 - 20.
Emily
Emily, Scrooge's fiancé, who leaves him when she realises that Scrooge loves money more than her. Soprano. 17 - 20.
Grace Smythe
Daughter of Mr Smythe, who is in debt to Scrooge. She is lean and hungry. And on the verge of becoming a Street Urchin if Scrooge has his way. Soprano. 11 - 15.
Young Scrooge
Scrooge before he became the cold, miser we know him as. Young Tenor. 10 - 12.
Very Young Scrooge
Scrooge before he became the cold, miser we know him as. Boy Soprano. 8 - 10.
Fan Scrooge
Ebenezer’s sister. A sweet caring child who loves Scrooge and whom Scrooge loves. Her memory softens him. Soprano. 8 - 12.
Tiny Tim
Bob Cratchit’s son. Very Ill and frail. He no longer has the use of a leg, and is carried everywhere, or he uses a crutch. He is the epitome of hope. Boy Soprano. 8 - 10.
Jonathan
A young street urchin who meets Scrooge both pre and post transformation. Boy Soprano. 8 - 10.
Ensemble
Various roles that may require significant multi-role skills. All voice types. Confident actors and singers. Dance ability a bonus. We expect these roles to be very busy - so stamina is of great importance. Male and Female. All Voice Types. 18 - 50.
