Work in Progress: Silent Running
“Perseus will last an hour, 2 at most… our SOS is hardly recognisable, no one will even know we’re down here”.
Stranded at the bottom of the Atlantic, with limited power, air and time ‘Silent Running’ tells of the final 90 minutes of five remaining crew members. In real time the events play out as one long extended scene escalating each and every choice that takes place. As time continues to run and the threat of death looms ever closer the crew finally start to reveal themselves and who they really are and what extent they will go to for their own survival.
'Silent Running' is an original script written and created by Lawrence Crane, it tells in real time the 90 minute struggle from crash landing to possible rescue, allowing the audience follows first-hand the real time implications of choice, whilst blurring the line between what is right and what is survival.
We’re delighted to premiere 'Silent Running' in the early stages of it's development where we can invite anyone and everyone to help further the development of this brand new production.
'Silent Running' will be shown as rehearsed reading of the script performed with sounds and lighting that'll reflect the scenes, we'll also be holding a Q&A after the performance with the cast and creator of 'Silent Running' to further develop the life of this new show for 2016/ 2017.
